I was talking to a coworker about what were the best films of each decade since the 1920s (neither of us had seen enough from the 1910s to qualify, and really, not that much was released then anyway).

Great choices! The Bicycle Thief is a mistranslation, it should be "The Bicycle Thieves" because the Italian name is plural. Also adds a whole new dimension to the film eh?
Yes, since there are truly two thieves in the movie.
I don't know why, but for some reason the English translation has always turned it into "The Bicycle Thief." Perhaps they didn't want to give away the ending?
