Clarke was the co-writer of the best film ever made, "2001: A Space Odyssey," and he was one hell of a sci-fi novelist and open-minded thinker too. He will be dearly missed.

Garfield Minus Garfield

You've probably already heard about this, but if not, then you're in for a treat.

Garfield Minus Garfield is a blog that posts Garfield cartoons with the famous fat cat removed. The result becomes, in the blog's words, "an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life."

AudioSurf

I'm addicted to a new PC game called "AudioSurf."

It's a racing-puzzle hybrid that takes any music file you have on your computer and transforms it into a roller-coaster racing track so that you can "ride your music."

I cannot begin to tell you how much fun it is to race on a track that perfectly follows the beats and rhythms of your favorite songs.

Here is someone's example using "Bohemian Rhapsody":
